Are there any tips you can provide to reduce my chances of card fraud?
There are several actions you can take to protect your personal information:
- Never provide any personal, bank account or credit card information to anyone who contacts you through a telephone solicitation. Instead, it is advisable that you obtain their phone number through an outside source or demand they mail you information so that you can further research the company.
- Destroy all ATM and bank receipts, old insurance forms, bank checks, expired payment cards and any other papers that include account numbers, identification or personal information. This includes pre-approved credit card solicitations! Thieves often search your garbage to find these forms and information and use it to apply for credit in your name.
- Be wary of promotional scams. Thieves may use phony offers to get you to give them your personal information.
- Secure personal information in your home. Treat payment card information like other important personal documents which should be stored in a secure place.
Set up an account alert to be notified immediately by email (or text) of any transaction amount above a specified dollar amount.

No, this email is an attempt at phishing. Phishing is a fraudulent attempt, usually made through email, to steal your personal information. Phishing emails usually appear to come from a well-known organization and ask for your personal information ? such as credit card number, social security number, account number or password. Often times phishing attempts appear to come from sites, services and companies with which you may not even have an account.
Please forward the entire e-mail message to Phishing@ncua.gov
Additionally, you can file formal complaints concerning any suspected fraudulent e-mail with the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) at www.ic3.gov. The IC3 is a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the National White Collar Crime Center, and the Bureau of Justice Assistance.

It is important to know that Social Security numbers or addresses were not stolen, so we believe that the risk of identity theft is very, very low. In fact, fraud rarely occurs on accounts compromised during a data breach.
However, it's always a good idea to check your credit report regularly for incorrect information. You are entitled to one free copy of your credit report each year at www.annualcreditreport.com for all three credit reporting agencies.

Also, transaction outside of the Portland Metro Area will not be charged.
